The Last Days will be days of great deception. Prior to the Lord's return, "evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Tim. 3:13). Second Peter 2:1-3 prophesies of the "false teachers" who would arise within the church to deceive the unwary. Furthermore, the apostle Paul stresses the necessity of being on guard against the wolves in sheep's clothing who would "draw away disciples after them" (Acts 20:26-31). The "latter times" for the church, the Bible tells us, will be marked by "seducing spirits," "doctrines of devils," and "signs and lying wonders" (1 Tim. 4:1; 2 Thess. 2:6-10).

Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore is being scammed, just like the rest of us. In a moment I will prove that with just one word. Yes, just one word.

As we learn in high school, judges are the interpreters of our laws. They don't write laws, they interpret them. Judges read the words the legislative branch has written and passed; examine the obvious meaning of those words and the context in which they are found; and when there is an ambiguity, they research and consider the legislative history surrounding the text of the law to discover what the legislators meant when they passed it.

Legislative history is the record of the committee hearings in which the law originally was discussed, before it was sent by the committee to the floor of the larger legislative body for consideration. Legislative history also includes the speeches given on the floor of the House of Representatives and the Senate before the final vote on the law occurs. Committee testimony and floor speeches are often used to clarify exactly what the framers of the law intended, when they drafted it and adopted it into law.

In the case of the Constitution, part of the legislative record are the Federalist Papers, which were newspaper columns written by supporters of the Constitution, explaining to the people of the thirteen states why they should ratify the Constitution and give limited powers to a newly formed federal government.

By now, most conservatives are aware that the words "separation of church and state" appear no where in the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, or the Federalist Papers. They are not the law; neither are they part of the legislative history of the law. The doctrine or separation of church and state is a fabrication of blatantly liberal, anti-Christian, dishonest, activist judges. In fact, the words,"separation of church and state" are only words taken out of context from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson. They exist nowhere in the laws of our nation.

Earlier, I said I would prove that the doctrine of separation of church and state is a scam, and that I would do so with one word; just one word. That is easily done. On a recent radio show, I handed a co-host a copy of the U.S. Constitution and asked him to read the First Amendment out loud over the air. He began to read, but I stopped him after the first word. "That's enough. You have read enough. You don't have to read further. You have settled the debate already," I said.

What was that one word that ended the debate over separation of church and state. That word is "Congress."

Read it for yourself. The First Amendment says that congress shall make no law establishing a religion. It doesn't say that states cannot establish a religion or observe religious holidays. It doesn't say that cities, counties, or school districts cannot show respect for the Bible or Christianity. The First Amendment doesn't imply in even the vaguest way that it is unconstitutional for a city to erect a manger scene in the town square at Christmas or for a school teacher to offer up a prayer to Almighty God at a graduation ceremony or before daily classes begin. You cannot get that out of the First Amendment, even if you stretch.

It's right there, plain as day. The First Amendment only limits Congress; no one else. Under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, Congress cannot establish a religion or prohibit the free exercise of religion. But, you say, the Founders must have wanted to prevent governments at all levels from showing preference for any one religion over others. Not so. The states would not have given Congress any authority over their actions regarding such matters.

At the time the Constitution was ratified by the thirteen original states, not only did Congress hold long, fervent prayer meetings and quote directly from scripture in speeches and floor debates, but a number of the original 13 states had in existence official state churches with official names like The Church of Maryland. Official state churches. And they were overtly Christian.

Those state churches were not limited by the First Amendment, nor did they cease to exist after the Constitution was ratified. Why? Because the First Amendment did not affect them. The First Amendment was designed solely to prohibit Congress from establishing a national church like the Church of England; a political church that many of the colonists had come to the New World to escape. The Founders merely wanted to prevent the federal government from forcing one sect of Christianity upon the entire country.

If you think the Founders supported the doctrine of separation of church and state, consider these quotes:

The U.S. Supreme Court in The Church of the Holy Trinity v. U.S. said, "Religion, morality, and knowledge are necessary to good government, and preservation of liberty, and the happiness of mankind." Clearly, the U.S. Supreme Court once thought that the U.S. could not have good government without religion.

The U.S. Supreme Court also said in the same case, "Our laws and our institution must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of Mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise. In this sense and to this extend, our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian." Has one word of the Constitution been changed since the court issued this decision in 1892, a hundred years after the Constitution was ratified, declaring that America is emphatically Christian?

Consider these words from the Northwest Ordinance, approved by Congress in 1789, "Religion, morality and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, school and the means of education shall forever be encouraged." There it is again, we must have religion if we are going to have good government, and they tie religion to schools. In fact, the very first English Bibles printed in America were paid for by the U.S. Congress with public money, and inside the cover of those Bibles it says that they were for use in our schools.

John Adams, our second president said, "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion...Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Robert Winthrop, Speaker of the House in the early days of the Republic, said, "Men, in a word, must necessarily be controlled either by a power within them or by a power without them, either by the Word of God or by the strong arm of man, either by the Bible or by the bayonet." Judge Roy Moore is right. The Bible is the basis for our laws. We end up with more government and less freedom when we refuse to be governed by morality and religion.

James Madison said, "We have staked the whole future of American Civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institution...upon the capacity of of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

George Washington, our first president and the father of our country, said, "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."

Consider these additional quotes that demonstrate that the Founders were overtly Christian, not just religious men. Patrick Henry said, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been offered asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here." Multi-culturalism to the Founders did not mean that we ceased to be a Christian nation, but that we were tolerant of others and allowed them to worship freely. We did not force them to become Christians and they did not force our nation to cease to be Christian.

The final version of the First Amendment says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Part of the legislative history of the First Amendment includes a longer version that included the words, "...nor shall any national religion be established...". That's what the First Amendment was about, prohibiting Congress from establishing a national church.

Liberal judges, ACLU lawyers, and liberal law professors have stolen the heritage of this nation. They have taken a clearly worded provision of the Constitution and twisted it to rob of us of the very underpinnings of our government and our society. They didn't do it through legislative acts, adopted by the duly elected representatives of the people. In fact, no words have changed in the First Amendment. The original words have been given radically different nonsensical meanings. Liberal judges have taken prayer out of our schools and manger scenes out of our town squares by blatant dishonesty. They have taken a constitutional provision that clearly limits Congress and only Congress and applied it to states, cities, counties and school districts.

Folks, it is impossible for us to save this country from those who would destroy it and pervert it into something radically different from what the Founder envisioned, if we do not rein in the power of overreaching, activist judges, who no longer interpret the clear meaning of the law, but pervert it and twist it. Judges today twist the law to make it say what they want it to say; to accomplish the end they desire. To that end they are no longer judges, but thieves, unworthy of the robes they wear.

Ps 118:8 declares, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

Ps 146:3 shows us, "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help."

Judas Iscariot was trusted by all of the other apostles. He appeared to be one of them, completely devoted to Jesus and intent on following Him. Can you imagine the shock to the others when the deceit of Judas was discovered?

Such is the deceit of man upon man. Only Our Lord knew the real Judas, and of his intended betrayal. Peter simply could not believe that any one of their group would do such a thing, even when the Lord forewarned him that such would take place.

Christians must remain focused on Jesus Christ and the Cross at Calvary, whereby we will never be deceived. Satan is deceit. Satan works thru man to deceive one of another. It is his great and awesome talent. It is mindboggling when you really understand just how much of the world you know, is so completely unlike what you have been led to think that it is. Why? Because Satan has deceived you. How? By using the very things upon which you have placed trust in man. Where else can he find a way to deceive you except thru the use of others. Sometimes we are shocked at what we learn about someone in whom we have placed a lot of trust. We feel disappointed and alarmed at our having been betrayed. But that is the norm and we are unable to see it. Perhaps those weak in their trust in Jesus Christ would be unable to deal with the great amount of deceit that is woven around them like a spider does a web for it is astounding.

Deceit, Satan's greatest weapon, from Eve to Anti-Christ, floods the earthly world. Here in our own time on earth, Satan is hard at work. He knows his time to wreak his havoc is not unending, but even that his final battle draws near. Old Satan has deceived himself, even. Remember, he wants to be god. Satan has great powers and many are the demons at his disposal. War exists in the Heavens and is manifested on earth. Satan wants to capture your soul and use you to claim as many more as possible in as short a time as possible. He works in the most devious ways. He has his many followers and they move freely among us within our daily routine. He wants to bring Christians down and he tempts you with all that is contradictory to the demands of our true God that we forego worldly things and seek eternal rewards. Just like he tempted Eve, he tempts you every day. But, oh what an arsenal he now has to use on us. And it is all about deceit.

You are deceived by all to which you are exposed. That's right, I said all. No need to go into all the details. That would take forever. All that you see in man is deceit. There, that makes it easy to understand. We are deceived and we deceive others and they deceive others, and ... You get the picture. And so great is the deceit that most of us know not that we are so deceived and would be on our knees seeking repentance knowing we had thus unintentionally deceived others. Deceived not about our salvation, necessarily, but about the things we sincerely believe, because we learned it from man and trusted man, and that information was not exactly His Word.

Satan walks in the door of every church everytime the doors are opened. Are you one of those giving him this free ride and allowing him to occupy a seat? Many do. Turmoil within churches are Satan's doing, but that is the least problem because it exposes itself and the deceit is not so great. It is manifested in individuals and their behavior is identified and can be curtailed. If we still practiced church discipline as Paul states we should, we would eliminate much of the world and Satan within our churches. But the deceit in churches is great, also. Your pastor can honestly teach a gospel not of Scripturally sound doctrine. He may be a product of the liberal university and liberal scholars who do not accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God. Even though he may have been studious and remains the student that he should, he may well have a view that is the result of having been deceived by man. And he may continue that deceit in his own testimony. Likewise, he may lack the courage to preach the things of the Bible that steps on too many toes, and this is a form of intentional deceit, as a sin of omission. Your church literature is probably deceiving you in a most subtle way, and not one teacher can identify it's thread, so great is that deceit, and so little their discernment, a tragic combination. The direction of the church, its leadership, activities, and works, can all be used by Satan and he most certainly is at work there spreading his deceit, taking advantage of the gullible and encouraging their apostasy. He may actually be in control of some churches, and all the while the members go thru the motions and do some good things and may well appear to be such a wonderful place to be. Remember, if it looks too good, it may be because Satan has gained all he needs there.

You may have other forms of deceit in your church. Take freemasonry, for instance; nowhere is found greater deceit than is that of the professing Christian who claims such membership, yet believes that he can be both a member of a secret society and Follow in His Footsteps. This is trying to mix oil and water. On the surface and to the deceived, it can appear to be very 'Christian' doing good works, but good works and professing 'religion' were the very ones who crucified Jesus Christ. And they were meeting in secret to conspire against Jesus. The Bible teaches us that we are not to partiicipate in works of darkness. Secrecy is darkness and it should be brought to light. When light exposes freemasonry and all its' blood oaths and pagan rites and rituals and its' recognition of god as in, 'any god will do,' that should tell a true Christian he needs to repent and get out. Yet, we have deacons and pastors who violate God's Word and aspire for the things that is offered them by belonging to such an organization. Some of our most evil government people over the years, such as Communist/Socialist president FDR, and many currently in our Congress were, or are, 32nd and 33rd Degree Masons and cannot a Christian be. By that time they have to know the deceit involved and have become a party to advancing it. It is the driving influence behind the New World Order. To have these influences in a church is to have Satan in the midst working his deceit in a place dedicated to the worship of the one true God. Yet, good works hides their true agenda and many are the deceived. How could a Christian participate in a 'group' that performs unChristian rituals and swears blood oaths and then act in leadership roles in His Church? And there is certainly more evil involved than just the oaths and rituals. I would avoid churches where Masons are active and they should not be elected to public office since they are pledged to a higher bond than is the constitution and their oath of office.

James 5:12 "But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation."

Much of the deceit in churches comes from goals that are unBiblical. The tendency to compete for members and playing the numbers growth game spawns a bureacratic social and entertainment club, where priorities lose all sight of Scripture. It is no longer about the individual Christian life as a shining light to the world, but about the tallest steeple and largest gym and how many enrolled.

God does not want His children to be deceived by any means, so we must be on guard when Satan's ministers appear as angels of light and ministers of righteousness (2 Cor. 11:13-15). God has given us His Word to reveal and expose every devilish deception. He has given pastors as undershepherds of the flock to warn and protect the sheep against the wolves in sheep's clothing. We are not to be ignorant of Satan's devices (2 Cor. 2:11), yet multitudes are led astray.

In the name of unity, many are deceived by the ecumenical movement. In the name of the Holy Spirit, many are seduced by the Charismatic movement. In the name of evangelism and missions, many are willing to work with those who preach a false gospel. In the name of supposed scholarship, many are deluded by false translations of the Bible. In the name of church renewal, many substitute psychological manipulation for the working of the Spirit through the Word.

How can we identify deception? -- "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isa. 8:20). Sincerity is not enough; popular acceptance is not the criteria; even speaking in supposed "tongues" or the performing of "miracles" does not validate what is of God, because the devil and his angels can produce counterfeit signs (1 Jn. 4:1). No, the only safe test of truth is the Word -- "the doctrine which ye have learned." God commands us to thus separate from those who espouse error -- "mark them" and "avoid them" (Rom. 16:17).

Satan will be performing miracles and wonders that will deceive many in the endtimes. The Bible tells me so. Very few will there be that will not be deceived and they will be persecuted; many killed. They will struggle to survive and will want for the very necessities of life for they will not have the mark to buy or sell. The rapture will not occurr to prevent their persecution, another minuplation of His Truth by Satan to deceive His People.

We are only beginning to see the signs of what is to come. Blackouts, disease, and violence by government is the future to expect. More and more will people turn to government seeking help and protection. They have no clue that it is actually the government and the economic system that is the tool used by Satan to destroy liberty and to attempt to destroy the worship of God and to eliminate even the mention of Jesus Christ. Christians will be readily identified when the tares and the wheat become obvious to all. Will you take the mark to feed your child, or will you allow that child to starve with you? We are assured that those remaining alive will see the anti-Christ. Can you see him now? Antichrists are all around and it is not only in human form. It is also a system. It is thru an economic system that Satan will briefly rule. It is an economic system that will allow Satan to exact his tyranny upon all in the earthly world. It is an economic system that will bring great hardship upon all who profess to Follow Him.

For those who fall for the wonders and miracles performed by false prophets of antichrist thinking it is the time of the rapture, there will be little hope. Their time will be short in which to repent and join those who endure until the end. That end may be untimely death at the hands of the antichrist system. We are told that few will be present for the Lord's second Coming and His Rapture of true believers. Paul wonders if there will be any at all. The true believer will find it difficult to survive, but God has also assured us that His Church will be here until the end, so we know that His Message will be preached even then. All this is simplification, of course, and Christians must study His Word and become adept at discernment lest evil deceive them even unto their own salvation. There will only be true disciples in existence and doing His Work in the very last days. All others will be of Satan and few will be saved then for they have denied The Son and the Father and the Holy Spirit and have worshiped the (marked) System of Antichrist. To deny Christ is to spend eternity in Hell, whether it be now or it be then. And that, according to Scripture, is the unpardonable sin.
